Vakinhoudelijk
This course emphasizes that, to become producers of knowledge rather than mere consumers, individuals must acquire the skills and methodologies necessary to conceptualize, conduct research, and compose texts. The objective is to enhance students' skills in key aspects of interdisciplinary feminist research through: (1) analyzing canonical texts within queer-trans-feminist, de/postcolonial, and critical race studies that exemplify diverse theoretical and empirical approaches; and (2) employing various research techniques, including theoretical, literary, and critical discourse analysis, as well as interviewing, and archival research. During the course, students will develop their critical-thinking skills and ethical standards; assemble a corpus of texts, research objects, or phenomena; and engage in meaningful research and academic writing. The aim isn’t to turn students into experts but to build familiarity and hands-on experience with diverse feminist research approaches and methods.
