Meet the Creators and Makers: Art, Studio and Related Practices
Course aim
- Acquire knowledge and insight into historical and contemporary studio and post studio practices
- Learn to consider studio practices as heritage
- Developing critical thinking on ideas, theories, opinions, methods, related to studio practices
- Further practicing your academic writing and presentational skills.
- Developing strong communication skills by means of discussion, presentation, exchange with experts, peers, curators and artists.
Course content
Meet the creators and makers: art, studio and related practices' from the Renaissance to Contemporary art. In this elective course students learn about historical and contemporary studio practices, visit artists studio’s turned into research, heritage centers or museums, learn how you can interview artists about their ways of working, material use, use of concepts and artistic ideas.
