Toelichting

During the lectures, the main theoretical concepts of Television Studies are discussed and historically contextualized, while simultaneously exploring their contemporary relevance. In the seminars, the emphasis will be on conducting close readings of key theoretical texts and analyzing (post)television phenomena based on these readings. Students will provide and receive feedback on their assignments aimed at enhancing their theoretical and analytical knowledge, as well as refining their reading and academic writing skills.

Bijdrage

Students are expected to provide peer feedback on writing assignments by fellow students and actively participate in plenary discussions.

Voorbereiding

To prepare for lectures and seminars, students are expected to study the assigned literature and complete their assignments.

The course assumes that you are familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style for referring to and annotating literature; that you attended a library instruction; that you are able to summarize the main aspects of an academic text; that you are able to write a short well-structured text using academic language.
